Tony Girling

Web Developer & Software Developer

Pavoni developer, Tony Girling

When your Pavoni website calls for tricky bespoke functionality such as custom e-commerce, I’m the one who does all the behind-the-scenes techie stuff to sort it for you. And the way I do it ensures that you can use your web software as easily as possible – with minimum technical support.

With many years experience of programming for, and supporting, businesses (big ones such as Citibank, Barclay Mercantile, Southern Electric, KissFM and Coopers & Lybrand to name but five, plus lots of small businesses in different industries), I’ve learned a great deal about how business works. I’ve found solutions in situations where organisations need new software to improve business efficiency. I’ve found solutions where organisations are facing crises because of software problems. And over the years I’ve perfected the art of asking all the right questions to get to grips with the business problem. (This is not something all techies are skilled at!) Having clearly identified what you need your website to be able to do, I find you the right technical solution.

A bit about me

I guess you’d say my twin interests in business and technology are reflected in the way I spend time when I’m not finding solutions for clients’ websites… I’m currently building my own ‘internet of things’ lab. But it’s not all commerce and computers! It’s food, drink and family too… I’m on the committee for our local annual produce show and the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale. And I love to spend a bit of downtime with the family.
